''I was an athlete and I started off being a circus performer'' he told Our Vancouver's Gloria Macarenko in a recent sit-down interview. 

It was there Virtue learned a rare skill: stunt performing. Stunt work, especially while on horseback, would eventually become one of Virtue's most valuable talents.

Danny Virtue has filled many roles over his career: stuntman, animal wrangler, producer and director. Now, he is receiving an award for outstanding achievement at the 2015 Leo Awards.
