Children and their families from across Canada are brought to the beautiful Virtue Ranch where they are treated to live entertainment, special celebrity guests, movie stars, international stunt performers, and a barbeque lunch. Live stunt shows, animal acts, wrestling, rodeo and acrobatics continue to become one of the highlights of the year for many who've come to the ranch. But it's not all entertainment. Danny and his volunteers work closely with the children and their parents, teachers, therapists to engage and educate. It truly is hands-on learning and when combined with the interaction the children have with the horses and the staff, a day at the ranch is life-affirming.
It is the Virtue Foundation's goal to provide an experience that encompasses many aspects of a child's growth and maturity. We recognize that for many children it is not a level playing field and the ability to overcome these obstacles can be compromised by certain challenges. We want to make the game of life, even for one day, a bit fairer, a bit more rewarding and a whole lot more affirming. A Day at the Ranch showcases animals, trainers, tricks and stunts but it also a day where there is great interaction and every effort is made for the children, be they in wheelchairs or be they psychologically challenged, to succeed and receive affirmation on their own terms, for their own achievements.
